Can i play playstation 1 games on ps3

Only some earlier fat PS3 models can play PS2 disc-based games. The PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4 software, so this means both physical and digital software will work on the next-gen system. That was fast thanks, is there any problems with playing them on the PS3? They appear to be using a full software emulation to play these games. Presumably they have been tweaking the emulator on a per-game basis to ensure that each game runs correctly.
